Fire in the Garage - AWD 105

This was a stubborn fire as it crept into the house. Our crew attacked from the garage door when we finally got it open. The cause was the sixteen year old son. He spilled gasoline on the garage floor while filling the lawnmower. He decided to throw a match on the gas to see what would happen. — He found out!

Acrylic paint over double primed stretched canvas. The gallery wrapped 8" x 10" x 3/4" painting is continued around the edges. It is protected by a minimum of two coats of UV resistant varnish.

This art would make a wonderful gift for a firefighter family member or friend. It would also make a great remembrance for a brave hero, either volunteer or professional, who is retiring from the fire service. Perfect for home, den, "man (or woman) cave" or the fire station. If you have a child, grandchild or young person interested in fire fire fighting or emergency service, add this to their room decor. Don't forget the fire buff or collector of fire memorabilia they would love original artwork for their collection!

Gallery wrapped with picture continued around edges for a fun effect.         Wired, ready to hang.

Show at Art Room 114 in Eldorado Kansas

Last Friday, February 3, 2012 was the reception for a new show called "A Family Affair" held at Art Room 114 at 114 N. Main, Eldorado Kansas.

As you can see from the photos, there was quite a crowd. A small group played music and my wife and I got to meet a lot of people.

The show featured at least two artists from the same family. My daughter also entered a charcoal sketch, a landscape into the show. Most people don't know the she is a great artist. Her work is primarily in pencil and charcoal. Unfortunately, she had to work and missed the opening of the show. The show will be continuing until March 31st. If you live nearby or get a chance to visit Eldorado, take a few minutes to stop by. The quality of the artwork is wonderful and you are sure to enjoy your visit.

I have been working on a new website. Though I signed up for it last summer, I wasn't sure if I wanted to continue using it. There are so many art web hosts out there I couldn't make up my mind. I have currently uploaded a little over 50 pictures to the sight.

One of the thing I really like about it is that it's a sight for all forms of creativity not just 2D wall "art." There are nine main categories from 3-D Art to performing arts to literature. They have a category for beauty, environmental art, graphic design, urban art, and visual art.

I will be able to offer my clown props for sale in several different categories. Yes clowning is an art! I had never really considered myself as an "artist" until I retired and took up painting seriously. Now I realize that I really just changed mediums from painting my face to painting a canvas!
