Bayer's Garage

 I realized it has been over a month since I added a blog. We have had my wife's mom in the hospital for an extended period of time. We then moved her from her apartment to live with in-laws. I haven't done a lot  of painting.

This was the first fire I remember as a child. My mother looked out the kitchen window and screamed "something is on fire!"  I looked out and the night sky was an eery orange glow. We ran a half block to see our neighbor's garage being eaten by flames.

In the county, they were just starting a fire department and their one pumper had to travel about thirty miles to reach the scene. They did save the back wall and a  part of the side walls. If you look closely, you can see the pumper arriving on the right side of the picture. Pretty exciting to this five or six year old! I did have nightmares about that fire for a long time afterward tho'.
