Downtown
Cities fascinate me. The business, the hustle and bustle and the colorful people who live, work, and play there, always create something new to discover. While I was waiting for paint to dry on another picture, I picked up a blank canvas board. Without much of a plan I started painting. But that's okay, that's the way most cities are built. It really adds a rich texture that would never happen with planning.
Acrylic paint on 4"x5" canvas panel. Original small cityscape.

Sunset after the... Rain?
What rain fell was little more than a sprinkle. This year, 2011, is turning into one of those years you will tell your grandkids about. While standing on my porch enjoying the few droplets of rain and studying the clouds last week, the solid line began to break up revealing the glow of sunset behind. The puddle of water on the road was just my imagination!

Acrylic on 4 7/8"x5"x1/8" wood panel. Primed with 4 coats gesso finished with UV resistant varnish. An original skyscape by R. Allan Lister.
Will make a great shelf decoration, give as a gift for a wedding, birthday, or new living space.
