Vase 1

Vase 1 This beautiful vase is from my grandmother's collection.

Acrylic paint on a gallery wrapped foundation of stretched canvas primed with two coats of gesso over wood stretcher bars. 8 x 10". The picture is protected by two coats of UV protected varnish and wired and ready to hang.

Break Through!

The gray clouds of the morning suggested we were in for a gloomy day as I looked out my back door. Suddenly, as though the sun had pounded a hole through the wall, it's light broke through!

The clouds quickly gave way to reveal a sunny and bright day.

Shed at Midnight

We could see the glow of the fire through the cracks of the shed's siding when we arrived around midnight. We pulled the booster (1inch hose line) and ran around to the door. Of course it was pad locked but, the good 'ol firefighter's kick opened it immediately. The nozzleman made quick work out of knocking down the flames. Within an hour we were back at the fire house and in bed to resume our sleep.

Almost Home!

You've been there! The lights of your car constantly disappear down the highway. Its late at night, you have been driving all day and you are so tired the only thing you can think about is home and bed! The glow of the lights of your home town bounce off the clouds as the odometer turns over those final few miles. The Wedding Vase

My wife and I got this vase on our honeymoon near Taos, NM. I understand this type of vase was used during the marriage ceremony of Native Americans in the southwest.

About Me…

Since the time I was old enough hold a pencil or a brush, I have been drawing and painting. My father owned a printing business so I had all the scrap paper any artist could want. Starting at about seven, I studied with several local artist groups in class settings. I then studied privately with a prominent local artist for about eight years. As an adult, I worked in the printing and graphic design industry, eventually owing my own business. I worked both as a professional and volunteer fire fighter for many years, painting off and on. Being attracted to the bright colored wardrobes, props, and opportunity of working with people, I started to clown about 1978. I went full time in 1992. I wrote the scripts, designed, built and painted the props and staging for over forty different shows. I designed my promotional materials. I also designed and then painted my personal canvas, my face, three to ten times a week. I am now making the transition back to my roots and training, using paint, pallet, and brush to create pictures and wall art. Much of what I am painting is from my life and work experiences. I paint what interests me at the moment. I especially love painting fire scenes in impressionist style. I want you to "feel the heat" when you view the painting! Thanks for looking!
